Quilt Lady of Alabama — Yvonne Wells

Yvonne Wells

1947-
Tuscaloosa, AL
Quilter

This lady apparently never slept. She was a teacher, a paramedic, an avid churchgoer and, oh, when she had a little extra time, a fabulous self-taught quilter. Yvonne’s quilts aren’t the sewing bee kind, more like funky, found fabric versions of history, culture and lessons from life that she stitched up in her own unique way. Hallmark even noticed how wonderful they were and incorporated some of her designs into greeting cards.
